EP197: The Tragic Death of Darcey Freeman
TW: CHILD DEATH
January 29th 2009 was an exciting day for children in Australia–it was the first day back to school after the long holiday break and it also was 4-year-old Darcey Freeman’s very first day of school. Darcey’s father was driving her, along with her two brothers to school, when he seemed to have snapped. The day prior, Darcey’s parents’ long divorce and custody battle finally came to an end, and her father, Arthur Freeman, was awarded much less parenting time than he wanted. Arthur felt like the courts were against him and he seethed with anger at his ex-wife, Peta Barnes the entire drive to school. Sadly, Darcey never made it to school that day and died in the most unthinkable way.
