The Vulgar Display of Power

On December 8, 2004, heavy metal fans were getting ready for the headlining act at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus Ohio. The band headlining that night was Damageplan, which was formed by the Abbott brothers—Vinnie Paul and Darrell “Dimebag” Abbot. Vinnie and Dimebag Darrell were former members of the rock group Pantera. Everyone at the Alrosa were excited to see Damageplan, but no one was more excited than 25-year-old Nathan Gale. Nathan was a rabid Pantera fan and he was anxious to see Vinne and Dimebag play. However, once Damageplan started to play, and Nathan made his way to the stage, no one would have guessed that the night would end with 5 people dead.
