In 1971, the murder of little 20-month-old Noah Alba rocked the city of San Francisco when it was discovered that two children, ages 7 and 10, were the perpetrators. The children, brothers “Billy” and “Bobby,” were often left to their own devices and lived much of their lives unsupervised, regularly bearing witness to the gruesome side of city life. While playing in the park, “Billy” and “Bobby” stumbled across Noah, who was lost and separated from his mother. After seeking help from nearby adults to no avail, the brothers took Noah to a trashed, decrepit basement to play. In order to quell Noah’s cries and sobs, the boys resorted to brutal and violent attacks that left baby Noah with a fractured skull, ruptured liver, and internal bleeding.
