On June 27, 1995, a local newscaster from Mason City, Iowa was running late for her 3 am call time at her station. Jodi Husentruit, who had overslept, hurriedly ran out the door of her apartment, got to her car to go to work, and was abducted, never to be seen again. It was about 4:30 am and there were no actual eyewitnesses. Police would arrive at the scene by 7:30 am to find her belongings strewn around her vehicle but there were very few clues to go on.
